The Bv206S is a lightly armoured, air-portable tracked vehicle for supporting airmobile forces and mountain troops. It can be deployed in a command and control, medical evacuation or transport role. The mobile command post version of the Bv206S is used for generating and disseminating situation reports, operation orders and battlefield graphics, thus assuring the flow of information between manoeuvre units and command elements. The field ambulance version of the Bv206S can be used for providing initial battlefield medical care as well as for evacuating wounded personnel, even in difficult terrain.
